WEBITECTURE
Interactive Design | Online Workshop | English | Europe-Mideast-Africa
Description:
Key Words: modular,discrete,webapp,webdesign
Required Skills: No experience necessary
Required Software: Blender 2.92, Google Chrome Browser
Required Hardware: No special hardware requirements
Maximum number of participating students: 20
Usually seen as a static form, architecture now faces the dynamism of current life. While older buildings get demolished or sometimes renovated, modern buildings strive to be multifunctional structures, open for different scenarios and needs that life suggests. Design process of new fluid and dynamic buildings and spaces becomes more open and inclusive for everyone. And special design tools should be created for this.
The first part of the workshop will be dedicated to learning the basics of modeling in Blender, creating a modular kit of parts for an architectural project. Special attention will be paid to preparing and optimizing 3D models for displaying in browsers.
During the second stage of the workshop, participants will be creating a web app for designing transformable modular spaces and structures. The goal of creating the app is to allow people to interact with the structure, generate options and suggest new possible ways of its existence. Participants of the workshop will jump into the basics of web development, HTML, CSS, learn coding in JavaScript, WebGL technology and Threejs library. The final app will be hosted online, on glitch.com.
You can find final app example here: https://demo-adaptive-app.glitch.me/
