This workshop reflects on this year’s theme, Inclusive FUTURES, in an attempt to address issues of access, equity, and inclusion within the computational design and architecture fields. Through a series of panels and conversations, this workshop will focus on highlighting and questioning existing inherent frameworks within academic and professional institutions which have contributed to an unbalanced world.

In our Anthropocentric era, we confront existential challenges through the instability of an ever-changing climate. How can we as architects engage with the many profound crises that define humanity's struggle for survival? Are we as a global society willing to see our shared existential problems as opportunities for change, or strengthening existing power relations?

Conversations on Inclusivity workshop will attempt to create an open discussion that networks a new imaginative potential of group intelligence. We believe in the potential of design and engineering solutions to solve our many existential crises of today. While we believe that architecture has a limited influence on cultural change, a new definition of the STEM fields' inclusion of architecture will potentially enable new discoveries. A new vision of systemic change is required now more than ever. We ask our community of architects, artists, scientists, and researchers to share ideas as a call for paradigm-shifting action.

Topics will include Open Access and Participatory Design Education, Social: Power & Privilege, Critical Computation, Environmental Justice & Territories, and Disability + Human Body.
